![]() Health Ichiban was established in December 2004 by Splice International, a Silicon Valley-based company. Our mission is to provide health-related information and products, such as natural and nutritious foods, minerals and vitamins. Our site is also intended to be a place to share information about health-related events, issues and experiences. Our hope is that by offering these products and providing a nurturing, educational environment, the individual as a whole, body, mind and spirit, will be rejuvenated. In today’s frantic world we are bombarded by media, distracted by the consumer culture, and encouraged to embrace every gadget in order to make our lives more convenient. Ironically, the technologies that are supposed to simplify our lives have made them more complicated. Even the food that we purchase is now packaged for convenience. The food that we eat, which should be wholesome and provide us with nutrition, vitamins and minerals, should also leave us feeling healthy and strong. The fact is that much of what we consume contains harmful elements that actually saps our energy and breaks down our natural immune system. Our lives and bodies are becoming cluttered with the excesses of modern life. In pursuit of convenience we are sacrificing quality; we are giving up a life that is rich in health and experience. This is a wisdom many of us accept but do nothing to alter. Wisdom comes with age and allows us a bit of objectivity. And as we age we appreciate the simple things in life and realize the importance of stamina and good health, things we may have taken for granted when we were younger. We are wise to learn what keeps our body and mind strong for this is the key to living a happy life. Aging is something precious that should be enjoyed. It is not necessary to go back to our old ways and live outside
of or against modern society. It is, however, necessary to make the right
decisions, providing our bodies and minds with the elements they need
to thrive in this challenging environment. Making healthy choices is
key. |
